Privacy policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
In short: Renace keeps your notebook so you don’t lose it and so Compass can keep you company with what you’ve written. There are no ads, we don’t sell data and we don’t use it for anything else. You can start without an account and delete everything whenever you want under Me → Settings.
Who is responsible
The controller of your data is Maryana Morgado, creator of Renace. For anything related to your privacy, write to info@tarotparaelalma.com.
This policy applies to the Renace app (Android and iOS) and to this website.
What data we process
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Installation identifier | A random code created by the app so we can keep your notebook without asking for an email or password. |
| Name | The one you give us at the start, so we can address you. It can be a nickname. |
| Language, time zone and country | To show Renace in your language and start each day at your time. |
| Approximate location (country and city) | We infer it from your IP address using a database on our own server. We don’t store your IP, only the result, and use it in aggregate to know where Renace is used. We don’t use GPS. |
| Your notebook | Answers, daily moods, the chapter and day you’re on, previous rounds, saved items and follow-ups (for example, a date you set with yourself). They’re stored on our server even without an account, so they aren’t lost. |
| Conversations with Compass | What you write and what it answers, plus a short summary of what matters so it can remember it in other conversations. |
| Dreams and readings | What you share in those sections and its interpretation, so you can read it again. |
| Patterns | A summary of what repeats in your notebook, calculated from what you write. |
| Birth details and how you identify (optional) | Date, time and place of birth, and gender, only if you add them under Me → Your data. They’re used by the sections of Me that need them and so Renace addresses you in the grammatical gender you prefer. |
| Messages in a bottle | The kind message you write for someone else. It arrives without a name or anything that identifies you. |
| Copies of your photos and worry box (optional) | Only if you turn them on under Me → Settings → Your privacy. Without them, object-of-the-day photos and worry-box entries live only on your phone. |
| Account (optional) | If you create an account: your email and how you sign in (email and password, Google or Apple). Passwords are handled by Firebase; we never see them. |
What we don’t process: there are no ads or ad trackers, we don’t use third-party analytics tools, we don’t access your contacts or precise location, and since Renace is free with no purchases, we don’t process payment data.
What you write is sensitive
People write intimate things in Renace: how they feel, their health, their relationships. We know this and treat it with that care. We only use it to provide the service you ask for (keeping your notebook, giving it back to you and letting Compass keep you company) and with your explicit consent, which you give by writing it in the app. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your data.
No one at Renace reads your notebook or conversations unless you ask us to, to help you with a problem. The exception is bottles that someone reports, which we review to decide whether to withdraw them.
Artificial intelligence
Compass, dreams, readings, patterns and the bottle filter use language models from OpenAI. To answer you, we send OpenAI the text it needs (for example, your message, the relevant parts of your notebook and the name you want to be called) without your email or identifier.
Under its business terms, OpenAI doesn’t use data received through its API to train its models. We also ask it not to store conversations (store: false); even so, it may keep them for up to 30 days to detect abuse, as its policy states.
AI can make mistakes. Compass isn’t a person or a health professional.
Our legal bases
- Providing the service you request by using the app (keeping and returning your notebook, your account, Compass).
- Your consent for what you write and for optional data (birth details, gender, copies). You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interest in protecting the service from abuse and in aggregate statistics that don’t identify you.
- Legal obligation, if a law requires us to keep or provide some data.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers. Only these providers work with it, to provide the service to us, under contracts that require them to protect it:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Renace’s own server | Where the database and your notebook live. |
| Google · Firebase Authentication | Creating your account and signing in (email, Google). Only if you create an account. |
| Apple · Sign in with Apple | Signing in with your Apple account, if you choose to. |
| OpenAI | Responses for Compass, dreams, readings, patterns and the bottle filter. |
| Cloudflare | Network that protects and speeds up the connection between the app and our server. |
| Google Play and App Store | Distributing the app. They process their own data under their own policies. |
Links to Spotify, Instagram or other networks take you outside Renace; their own policies apply there.
Transfers outside Europe
Some providers (Google, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Apple) may process data in the United States. They do so with the safeguards required by the GDPR: the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your notebook and data, for as long as you use Renace or until you delete them.
- When you delete your account or data in the app, they’re removed from our database at that moment, together with your Firebase account. If there are server backups, the data disappears from them within 30 days at most.
- If you delete a Compass conversation, it’s deleted along with what it remembered from it.
- If you restart Renace or repeat a chapter, the previous notebook is kept as a previous round so you can read it again, until you delete it.
What stays on your phone
The app keeps a copy of your notebook on your phone so it works offline, plus your preferences (language, sounds, vibration). Object-of-the-day photos and the worry box live only there unless you turn on their copy. If you delete the app without an account, anything that was only on the phone is lost.
This website doesn’t use cookies.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, take it with you in a readable format, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw your consent. The fastest way to delete is in the app (here’s how); for anything else, write to info@tarotparaelalma.com and we’ll reply within one month.
If you think we haven’t handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the authority in your country.
Children
Renace is designed for adults. If you’re under the minimum age in your country to consent to the processing of your data (14 in Spain, 16 in much of the European Union, 13 in the United States), please don’t use Renace. If we learn that someone under that age has given us data, we’ll delete it.
Security
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the server and admin panel is restricted, irreversible actions (such as deleting an account) require that account’s session, and we don’t store IP addresses. No system is infallible: if an incident affected your data, we would tell you and report it to the authority where required.
Changes to this policy
If something important changes, we’ll explain it here and in the app before it applies. The date of the last update is at the top.
